Communication of hands-on, lively knowledge of economics

The aim of the Foundation is to make young people familiar with the basic aspects of economics and allow them to experience these. The Foundation develops  teaching concepts for education in economics, based on games and simulations. The Foundation trains teaching staff, university lecturers and volunteers from the world of business (instructors) in the use of the teaching concepts.

The Foundation's best-known project is the Economy Weeks. Working together with the chambers of commerce and industrial associations of the cantons, as well as numerous Swiss companies, the Foundation enables business-related project weeks to be held at higher secondary schools (Gymnasien). The Economy Weeks are led by managers from the world of business (instructors).

The Ernst Schmidheiny Foundation is an operative foundation, i.e. it follows its own projects and programmes. The Foundation will not accept any applications.
