Managers from commerce and industry acting as instructors
The Economy Weeks owe their success to the voluntary work of managers from commerce and industry who are prepared to hold Economy Weeks in higher level secondary schools (Gymnasien). Their commitment means that they can ensure the Economy Weeks are as close as possible to business practice. The instructors pass on their knowledge of the business world and their personal, professional experience to the learners and are available for discussion.
Acting as an instructor - a task with responsibilities
Instructors provide the economy with a face. Committed staff with management experiences from all kinds of businesses make suitable instructors. Working in pairs, they teach a school class for a whole week. The school students profit from the instructors' specialised knowledge and their professional and life experience, and also from practical business-related discussions with the instructors on economic matters.
A contribution to society and a step in further business education
Numerous companies in Switzerland - small and medium-sized business as well as large concerns - are actively delegating their staff to Economy Weeks. There are two main reasons why they do this:
- Corporate citizenship / corporate social responsibility (voluntary service)
- Further development of management staff
